So on this dismal, dreary day in Washington, it is easy to grumble your way through another rainy day. But I just felt like sharing a few instances today that made me smile and realize that sunshine isn't always found in the sky.
* I received an email from a guy in IT that said "It's been a long day. Thanks for making me smile." (This was in response to a rather silly joke I cracked in an email earlier yesterday.)
* A mid-teenage boy actually offered me his seat on the Metro. Now, I could take that all sorts of ways (heavy = preggo, old = infirm), but I chose to think that boy has been brought up with great parents. I politely refused with a smile, and sent a kind thought to his mama.
* When my (Polish) coworker sneezed today, I busted out the only bit of Polish I knew. (Na Zdrowie = bless you/cheers) She then taught me how to say thank you (I think) in Polish, and told me I had excellent diction. (FYI - that would be dziekuje - which sounds like jane-coo-yay)
That's all I got for now. But considering that it's only 10 am, and it's Friday, AND I get to leave at 3 pm today, things are looking pretty ok!
