It's hit early, and it's hit HARD.
That's right - the Christmas Bug.
Ever since the weather started changing, and the stores began putting out Santa-festooned displays, I have been dreaming (practically DROOLING) of a White Christmas. Christmas carols run through my head at a moment's notice, the desire to unearth my decorations is a tangible thing, I have my color-coded gift list compiled AND have begun shopping! White lights, tinsel, wrapping paper - oh my!
It's so hard being the only one who feels this way, esp. when the weather won't go below 70 degrees. Hardly the ideal conditions for a White Christmas (not like we get them around here anyways.) So I have been trying to un-Season myself, gradually, when what do I hear today on Eliot in the Morning?
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say "Merry Christmas to you."
Sure they were playing it as a joke, but it just woke up the holiday urge in me brighter than ever.
Sigh.
On the plus side - only 27 days, 658 hours, 39539 minutes AND COUNTING until I can put up my Christmas decorations without being institutionalized... :oD

I love christmas too, its my favorite time of year. I keep reminding everyone at work that its right around the corner and they keep telling me to shut up!
