Tick tock

I know I risk stating the TOTALLY OBVIOUS here, but...... did you know it's already OCTOBER?! (Don't look now!)

Over the past month or so since I last updated (bad blogger!) I've:

* Started math class (always lovely).
* Celebrated a birthday with good friends, good wine, and lovely scenery.
* Kicked into high gear at work as we prepare for our annual meeting in San Francisco, which I leave for next Saturday! As well as continuing to do 3 jobs at once, with assorted results.
* Had a pipe burst in the basement, ruining the spare room, damaging Christmas decorations and childhood memories (sniffle!), destroying the carpets and walls. The house now smells totally rank and the landlords are dragging their feet about fixing it.
* Watched the country come crashing down, while doing my best to *lalala* ignore it and stay calm and sane...
* Set the wheels in motion to (finally!) buy a house. Because of the preceding bullet, the prices can't be beat, but it sure is a terrifying process to start with, without the additional fear of totally losing our shirts (and 401Ks and our futures). Discovered I have no "eye" nor patience for househunting..... I always want to buy whatever property I'm in right now just to get it over with (cockroach hovels notwithstanding). And did I mention the moving process from one property to t'other?

Add in the aforementioned week in San Francisco, 1 week in Disney, the holidays and assorted other chaos/pressures/responsibilities, and it'll be a miracle if I make it to 2009. *whew*

Thank goodness I leave for Raleigh tomorrow for a girls' weekend. I don't want to do ANYTHING but drink, laugh and chill.... if I can only survive the car ride!
