We did it!

It is 10:49 and night, a time we're usually in bed almost zonked out, but lo! we're wide awake. Why?

We just put a contract on a house.

That's right! You heard me!

My dad and I accompanied us to the property to "kick the tires" if you will. He's quite the handyman, so I know that if he said "no" then we would run and do not look back! Despite our initial bumpy start -- our dingbat Realtor forgot to make sure the power was on, so we got to tour the house in the dark with just flashlights -- it passed Dad's inspection and we decided to go ahead. We figure, we have nothing to lose, and a cute little house to gain!

So after a fast meal (McDonald's + nervous stomachs - never a good combination), we headed over to the realtor's office to sign away our lives. It was nowhere near as scary as I thought it would be... Laura was very good to explain everything to us in minute detail so we were pretty comfortable. And at the end of the night, we had a signed offer that she said she felt confident would be accepted.
