I learned this weekend that Wegman's is owned by... Safeway! Say it ain't so! You could have knocked me over with a feather. So my wonderful grocery store is owned by Satan himself? I think I may cry...

Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Wegmans is a privately held, family-owned company, founded in 1916 by the Wegman family. Danny Wegman is CEO, and Colleen Wegman, his daughter, is president. Robert Wegman, Danny’s father, was chairman until his death in April 2006.

Aww glad michelle helped clear that up for you. I would have helped you out too, my mom knew the story about the Wegman's since shes from upstate New York and told it to me when she told they were opening one in Woodbridge. So no worries...its not owned by Satan :)
I had even researched it on their website, but I wasn't sure if maybe I was mis-reading it, or missing something, etc. (*huge sigh of relief*)
